My best so far:
M1 (the Crab nebula) is a supernova remnant located about
6500 light-years from Earth. It is what left of a star that
exploded in
the year 1054 AD. It was observed by Chinese astronomers at the
time and was noted as a "Guest" star. M1 was visible for
23 days, during the day! and for another 653 days at night.
