Mark's Racing Career

Those who have clicked around this site have probably guessed I like cars and racing. Houston has just gotten an indoor karting center within the last year. Despite the common misconception, racing karts are not go-karts. They're true racing machines! Just about everyone racing in Formula One, Champ Cars, and even the Indy Racing League have had their beginnings in karting.

Track 21 is the best indoor karting center here in Houston. The karts have 9HP motors and reach speeds of up to 40M.P.H on an 1100ft track. They're the new competitors to Kartzone. I had been going to Kartzone for a while and have raced in three of their leagues. My first league was a learning experience; I thought I was getting pretty good but my final result, last out of 8, would say otherwise. My second league was much better! I tied for fourth place (out of 16), and had we needed a tie break I would be in fourth by myself because I had more wins.

I've finished my third league and was able to hang on and secure a 1st place finish!!
